So, if you've been living under a snow pile, you may not be aware of Lift Off 2008 going on RIGHT NOW! Every week this winter we are giving away Lift Tickets to your favorite resorts, all around the Lake. All you have to do is listen and be the correct caller and you'll go skiing or riding for free!

We've already given away tickets to Donner Ski Ranch, Squaw Valley, USA, Kirkwood, Sugar Bowl, and Diamond Peak! More resorts and more tickets to give through April!

And if you are a fan of free Lift Tickets, listen in every Saturday morning to the Sports Exchange Saturday Morning Ski Show. Lift Tickets are morning long are yours, you just have to keep listening!

Don't forget: Every listener that scores Lift Tickets is also entered into our monthly drawing for a pair of Praxis Powder Skis! The skis are homegrown- made right in Truckee. If you are one of the monthly winners, you get to visit the factory and pick your length and your graphic. Congrats to January's big Praxis winner, Shannon Castillo!

The snow is finally falling! While it's not sticking yet, it feels nice to know we might be able to hit the slopes on nature-made snow soon.

If you like to hit the slopes or should I say glide down them (don't want you to injure yourself), make sure you listen all winter long to 101.5FM. We have tons of lift tickets to all your favorite mountains and we want YOU to ski or ride for FREE!

Every Saturday morning from 7-10am, JD HOSS and Big Bri will be hosting the Sports Exchange Saturday Morning Ski Show. They'll check in live with the resorts and find out where to carve the best turns. Plus, FREE lift tickets all morning long. If you don't listen, you'll friends will be laughing as you wait in line to folk over 70 bucks while they're finding fresh stashes for free!

Also, starting in January, we'll be giving away lift tickets not just on Saturdays, but all week long!

Besides the lift tickets, we'll also make sure to keep you entertained for some apre ski fun as well with FREE concert tickets to the best live music around.

Also, finally: Congrats to our Big Black Box Winner Laura Rezetko. She won a trip for two to Mexico courtesy of Truckee Travel and 101.5FM. If you want to be a big winner like Laura, keep listening!

Okay, first of all, I will try to spell correctly this time! Second, I will do my best to update this blog more frequently. And third, I want to hear from you! If you need to know a song we just played or you're curious what bands will be in the area, ask away! We like to make people here at 101.5FM!

Also, don't forget to listen closely in the next few weeks. We are giving away a trip to Mexico on September 20th and you need a key in order to try to win! Thanks to Truckee Travel and Smokey's Kitchen for helping with our second summer of the Big Black Box and our second summer of sending a lucky listeners to somewhere fun! Maybe this year it will be you. Keep listening- we will be giving away keys everyday between now and September 20th, so if you don't have a key yet, there is still a chance!

Hello Blog Readers! This is my first ever foray into the blog-writing atmosphere. I've definitely read my share, but was afraid my computer skills circa 2000 would emerge in my writings. But I feel, 101.5 FM listeners, you deserve to hear what's going on here at the station besides just the great tunes. I will try my best to keep you informed of shows, events, music, and lots of other fun stuff that we here at 101.5 FM are excited about! If there is anything that you think we should know about, then let us know, too! We are only a blog reply away. And you can always reach me straight up at my email lindsayktkeradio@yahoo.com.

As for stuff I am excited about right now, the latest Modest Mouse cd is in stores today. We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank is the title (were they trying to capitalize on the Pirates of the Caribbean craze?) and the first single is Dashboard. We've been playing the song for awhile now and we now we have the whole cd in our hot little hands. I know your ears will be loving the sounds of some of their other tunes very shortly.

Now, I will head off to get psyched for my show, but like I said before talk to me! I want to hear what you think about our station- our music, our shows, our website, and anything else you can think of!
